This year the Bend Roots Revival celebrates its twentieth season September 11th – 13th, 2026.
This beloved community event showcases many styles—from singer-songwriters and blues, bluegrass, and country artists to hip-hop, jazz, reggae, funk, punk-rock, heavy metal, and good old rock n roll. The Revival is free, family-friendly, and open to all.

Our Mission
Our mission is two-fold: to celebrate the diverse creative musical character of central Oregon at the Revival and to support music education outreach throughout the year in conjunction with local schools, via creative camps for youth and adults, and through interactive community events like the legendary “Church of Neil” celebration and our annual tribute to the Grateful Dead: “A Grateful Night,” hosted by the High Desert Music Hall in Redmond.

Bend Roots Education Collective
In addition to providing a platform for locals to perform at the Revival, Bend Roots helps create part-time employment for local teaching artists. During the 2025-26 school year, members of the Bend Roots Education Collective worked with students at Westside Village Magnet School leading musical electives & intensives, working as “guest specialists” during regularly scheduled music classes; and helping to produce the 8th grade musical, The Lion King with director Ms. Lovely. Local Pianist Evan Mullins and Journeyman Justin LeBart joined the team this season mentoring students on keyboards and helping build a convincing “Pride Rock” for the Lion King production. In addition, local music students received scholarships from The Bend Roots Fund for private guitar/voice mentoring with Ian Carrick, violin instruction with Leah Beshore, and drum lessons with Lindsey Elias. For an end of school celebration Bend Roots brought in local favorites, The Spencer Marlyn Band, to perform for the WVMS school community and to participate in a Q&A with moms, dads, students, teachers, and administrators.
Roots Education Collective alum, veterans, and current active teaching artists include Ms. Lovely (drama), Aaron André Miller (piano and keys), Patrick Pearsall (bass, guitar, ukulele), Mosley Wotta (spoken word, poetry, hip hop), Shireen Amini (percussion, voice, composition), Jesse Roberts (mixed media), Jeshua Marshall (music-activism, bass, guitar, songwriting), Mark & Linda Quon (voice, guitar, songwriting), Georges Bouhey (piano and percussion), Julie Southwell (violin, world-music, music-meditation), Matthew Fletcher & Scott Baber (music recording and production), Matthew (Mai) Hyman (guitar, banjo, dobro, and music theory), Stephanie Slade (voice, composition, performance), Pete Kartsounes (guitar, songwriting, creative cross-training), Wendi Wampler (clarinet and world music), Jen Lande (songwriting) and Bend Roots co-founder, Mark Ransom (Joy-Centered Music Education).
